August has been working in recording studios for nearly 20 years. Having apprenticed with BJ Burton and Lance Conrad, August honed his craft fast. Those apprenticeships lead to work with Unknown Mortal Orchestra, DeVotchKa, and HALEY.

In 2014 he opened his first commercial studio called "The Petting Zoo” in the Minneapolis Arts District. Being in his own studio was very fruitful, having sculpted Ondara’s earliest recordings which would soon become the Grammy Nominated “Tales of America” album. The Petting Zoo also saw bands like Carroll, Bad Bad Hats, Laura Hugo, The Ballroom Thieves, and many more come through its doors.

In 2019 August decided to make the move into the legendary Terrarium Recording Studios (Prince, Beck, Tame Impala, Semisonic etc.). He was the house engineer at The Terrarium for nearly 4 years when him and his wife decided to make the leap and moved across the world to Dublin, Ireland.

In 2022 August hit the ground running in Ireland by signing to World’d End management and also producing and signing the Irish band Rowan to record label Beverly Martel. Since being in Ireland for the past few years, August has worked with big talent such as Kingfishr, Bronagh Gallagher, Will Forte, Humbird to name a few. August is currently set up in central Dublin at Camden Recording Studios.
